Just A Helping Hand is a community-supported nonprofit serving families throughout the Berkshires and surrounding communities. Every December, we open a cheerful, free holiday store where parents and caregivers can shop for holiday gifts, stocking stuffers, warm winter accessories, and other surprises for their children - all at no cost.

There are no questions about why a family needs help.
There is no religion or faith requirement.
There is no judgment.

Our Purpose
Imagine walking into a little Christmas shop filled with toys, games, stuffed animals, stocking stuffers, hats, mittens, Christmas music, and smiling volunteers.

Then imagine being able to choose something special for every child in your family - without worrying about what it costs.

That's our Holiday Free Store.
​
Parents and caregivers shop for their own children, choosing gifts they know their kids will love. When they're finished, our volunteers bag everything up at our checkout counter, just like a regular store. Because receiving help shouldn't mean giving up your dignity or your choices.

We want families to leave with more than a bag of presents. We want them to leave feeling cared for.
